As an Indian analyst trained in Switzerland, I find it difficult to fully separate individuation and decoloniality, and instead approach them as parallel processes. This lecture explores the relationship between the two and emerges from a lived and clinical engagement with questions of identity and colonial inheritance.

In this talk, I weave clinical and cultural material including a short clip from my film to explore this topic. I offer a Jungian framing of coloniality and decoloniality as processes embedded in how we know, and in language, the body, dreams, emotions, and everyday psychic life.

The aim is to explore how these patterns may be encountered, made conscious, and worked with in analytic contexts across different cultural, historical and racial positions as they are lived and negotiated in the psyche.
